 Chapter 1 

 

“Ryo!” Two voices called in the distance.

Ryo turned his head away from the beautiful sea to see his friends walking down to him at the shoreline. “What now?”

“We looked everywhere for you.” Choosing to ignore the comment. “Did you know that three new lights developed this afternoon? Maybe one of them is for you.”

Yamapi was always concerned. Giving me just enough hope to last another day. Next to him is Ohkura. His other half and I envy the two very much…but they understand why…

Yamapi raised an eyebrow. “Ryo?”

Blinking out of his thoughts Ryo smiled. “Oh really?”

Ohkura nodded. “Maybe one of them can help you not talk to yourself.”

Ryo glared. “Be nice to me or else I’ll give you the silent treatment.”

“Oh, I’m so scared.” Ohkura teased.

“Anyway,” Yamapi decided to get to the topic at hand. “Are you going to go to the Klub?”

Ryo shrugged. “I’ve been there yesterday and I don’t feel like going today or tonight.”

“Please.” Yamapi begged. “Just for a few minutes. It won’t hurt…” Ryo glared. “That much…” Yamapi tried with a smile.

“….” Ryo crossed his arms and looked out into the distance.

“We would even come with you.” Yamapi wrapped his arm around Ohkura’s shoulders.

“We will what?” Ohkura raised an eyebrow.

Yamapi pouted. “It’s just for a few minutes.”

Ryo rolled his eyes before looking back at Yamapi. “Alright, I’ll go but JUST for a few minutes.”

“Good because we are going right now.” Yamapi said taking Ryo’s arm and dragging him away from the beautiful beach.

“Why now!?” Ryo tried to break free. “I’m not wearing anything decent.”

 

The Klub is like…well it’s the only place where you can find your other half. The building is six stories high, filled with rooms just in case you wanted to be alone, and in the bigger rooms’ spirits play music for you to dance to. I’ve been there so many times. Ohkura says I’m too picky.

 

“It doesn’t matter what you look like. Knowing you, you won’t find anyone anyways. Just lie down and die already.” Ohkura poked Ryo on the sides playfully. “I still say that girl last week was the one.”

“She was dumber than a box of rocks.” Ryo muttered fixing his hair. “And shut up I know what I’m doing.”

“Sure sure.” Ohkura sighed out as Yamapi opened the door for them to go down and take the subway.

 

He doesn’t understand…if I got to spend my eternally with someone and only one person. I got the right to be picky…dammit.

 

After taking the subway, and making it up to ground level, the three friends made it inside the Klub through the rotating glass doors. The male clerk behind the front desk smiled at the three young boys happily. “Welcome to the Klub. Just three today and maybe for tonight?”

“Yes, but we’ll be here for just a few minutes. You see, we come here frequently and we just heard that you received three new developments this morning.  My friend wants to check them out.” Yamapi smiled and pointed to the lonely soul next to him. “He’s the one who would be on search.”

“I see.” The clerk nodded while grabbing a few papers. “There’s actually one more being sent on the way and won’t be here until later on this evening. I can inform you when he arrives.”

Ryo was about to say no but Yamapi interrupted. “Oh, there’s one more coming? We’ll just wait until the evening then.”

Ohkura pouted. “Are you serious?”

“I have to agree with him on this one.” Ryo pointed at the taller boy.

“They are just shy.” Yamapi pulled the two boys out towards the exit. “See you in a few hours.”

“Wait wait wait wait.” Ryo pulled free from his friend’s grasp when they were standing in front of the building. “I think you’re being overly excited. I don’t want to meet them.”

“But you promised.”

“I didn’t promise anything I just said I’ll go for a few minutes and I did so I’m done.” Ryo replied heading for the subway again.

“Ryo-“ Yamapi was cut off when Ohkura grabbed his hand.

“Let him go for now.” Ohkura smiled. “He’ll be back later, trust me.”

Walking into the subway and taking a seat next to a merry couple, Ryo crossed his arms and looked out the window.

 

I don’t want to be rejected again. Of course Yamapi doesn’t understand that he has Ohkura.  Plus spirits at the Klub are just too fake. Pretending to be what you desire and every move is calculated. It’s not… what… I want…

………..

 

Ryo feels his internal light dimming. Suddenly he feels weak and wants to sleep. Lowering his head so it rests against his hand, he closes his eyes as he mutters. “Where are you?”
